How a record is added, step by step
Photograph the pages, let Vinfirm read them, review the redactions and the details, then save.
Adding a record takes four steps. First, photograph or upload every page of one invoice. Photos and PDFs both work, up to 20 pages.
Vinfirm then reads the pages. It works out the date, mileage, shop and each line of work, checks that the paperwork is one service visit, and places boxes over personal details. This takes a few minutes, and you don't have to wait on the screen while it happens.
Next you review the redactions. Every box is shown on its page, and you can add your own or adjust the ones placed for you. Boxes over high-risk numbers are locked.
Then check the details that were read: date, mileage, shop, line items and amounts. Correct anything that's wrong. This is also where you mark a record as a previous owner's, or note that it matches an event on a vehicle history report.
Finally, confirm that you have the right to upload the document and have reviewed it for personal information, and save. The original files are deleted at that point and only the redacted copy is kept.
