Vehicle history reports and Carfax

Vinfirm never accepts, reads or stores Carfax, AutoCheck or other vehicle history report content. If a history report is uploaded as a record, it's refused and its pages are deleted straight away.

What you can do is note a match yourself. On a record's details, tick that it corresponds to a vehicle history report event, choose the kind of event, and adjust the date and mileage if the report shows different ones. Both start out as the record's own.

On a records page these appear under Reported events, each shown as the owner's statement with the record it was matched to. Where the dates or mileage differ, the gap is stated. When the two agree, that is the owner's own numbers lining up, not a check by Vinfirm.

When an owner hasn't marked any events, the records page says exactly that. It says nothing about whether any were reported, because Vinfirm never sees the report.
