Handing the records to the buyer

A handover moves the records, not the title. The buyer receives them free, and your records stay attributed to you.

Once the car sells, start a handover from the car's page by entering the buyer's email. It needs a live Vinfirmed Sale. The buyer gets an invite to receive the records into a free account.

Nothing moves until the buyer accepts. Then the whole timeline and every document carry over unchanged. You become a read-only entry in the car's history, and your records stay attributed to you.

Your records page is archived at the same link, marked accurate as of the handover date and no longer active. An archived page shows the timeline but not the amounts or documents. The buyer can publish the car again with their own Vinfirmed Sale when they sell.

An invite expires after 14 days. Until it's accepted you can cancel it, resend it or send it to a different email, and your records page stays live. Only a completed handover uses up your Vinfirmed Sale, so trying again costs nothing.

The mileage you entered at checkout is stamped on the records page and can't be changed once the buyer accepts.

This hands over documentation only. It isn't a title transfer or a bill of sale, and it doesn't change who legally owns the car.
