Deleting a car from your garage

Open the car, choose Edit details, then Delete this car. The next screen lists what goes with it: the car, its records and document pages, its photo, any unfinished records and any exports. Type DELETE to confirm.

Deletion happens straight away and can't be undone. There's no grace period, and nothing can be recovered afterwards.

Added the wrong VIN? The VIN can't be edited, because every record and the car's link are tied to it. Delete the car and add it again with the right one.

Two cases are refused. A car whose records page is live has to be taken down first, from the car's page. A car carrying a Vinfirmed Sale you haven't used yet can't be deleted on its own, because that would throw the purchase away: write to us and we'll sort it out with you.

Deleting a car frees its slot on your plan. Documents already read for it still count toward your reading allowance for the rest of the 30 days, so deleting and re-adding a car doesn't reset it.

A car you received from its seller can be deleted too, and the records earlier owners filed go with it.
